What is Forest Bathing?

Forest bathing is an invitation to deepen our connection with Nature, become present and  find  inner stillness among the trees.

Movement through the forest happens at a very slow pace to allow for mindful nature immersion,  opening and engaging  all senses, and an opportunity to commune with the many more-than-human beings.

Forest bathing is not new in its origin,  but much rather an ancient practice of communing with Nature that humans have innately turned to from the beginning of our time on Earth.

In recent decades forest bathing aka forest therapy has gained increasing attention, with Japan leading the way with groundbreaking research regarding the health benefits of shinrin-yoku  and its establishment as a popular wellness practice.

Science is confirming what becomes immediately apparent upon  stepping mindfully into the woods - the heart rate slows, blood pressure drops, stress, anger, and anxiety decrease, and gentle happiness unfolds as one enters a state of energized calm. Additionally, forest bathing shows measurable and beneficial effects on many other health markers like immune function, cancer recovery, sleep, and mental wellbeing.
